New to New Orleans

People come here for their first visit, “fall in love” with the city and then never leave.  Others rearrange their lives so they can come back to stay for good.  Many festival visitors come year after year for the biggest & best parties the city  offers to the world:  Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest and/or Jazz Fest.

My story?  Not so much.  Though, I did have a couple of youthful flings with this town, to be honest.  More on that later.  But this time… I moved here for my husband’s job.  I mean, it’s a cool job.  He’s a jazz musician.  I am happy to be here.  But I am an unintentional transplant, and a fragile one, at that.  This blog will chronicle my adventures in this strange, new land.

    1. Hi Ray, many thanks! My husband is bass player Ed Wise. He teaches at Loyola, has a steady gig at Houston’s Restaurant with David Hansen, plays with Luther Kent & Trick Bag, and more freelancing with a variety of folks. He was also in NOLA pre-Katrina in the 90s.
